On Friday, February 24, at 12 noon, the gates of the Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru will open for the third edition of the Kannada Chalanachitra Cup, a cricket tournament involving stars, technicians, filmmakers, etc., from Sandalwood. The two-day event features six teams, each of which boasts an international cricket player, and will have six T10-matches, with the first expected to start at 3 pm, after the star-studded inauguration event.

Speaking at a press briefing ahead of the tournament, Kiccha Sudeep, who is at the forefront of organizing it, requested fans of various actors who are playing to enjoy the game peacefully and not create any ruckus. KCC, said Sudeep, will not only be about the cricket on the field, but there will be intermittent entertainment programmes, as well as visits from stars across industries. These, he said, will not only be at the inaugural and closing ceremonies, but throughout the duration of the tournament, spaced out at intervals. Sudeep added that there were a lot more confirmations for the earlier announced February 11 and 12 dates for KCC, but owing to the postponement, it is now clashing with the Celebrity Cricket League and several who had promised to join Sudeep and gang are now unable to do so. Nevertheless, the superstar assured that fans will not be disappointed, whether it is the cricketing action or the entertainment planned for the tournament.

In fact, Sudeep added that the response to the ticket sales has been phenomenal, and much better than the previous editions of the tournament. Buoyed by the response, Sudeep said that the plan for the next edition is to make it a four-day event, so as to allow all six teams to play each other and ensure better results, as against only two matches each.
