Trust Crazy Star Ravichandran to reveal a bunch of secrets every time he’s up on a stage. Well, he didn’t disappoint on July 12, at the Bengaluru leg of the KD The Devil teaser launch events. Amid taking potshots at director Prem for spending more time on figuring out Ravichandran’s look and wig for the film than actually having him on set, the veteran actor dropped another fact about the film.
“I have no idea what I have done in the film. I got no story narration, even though he met me at least 10 times before I shot for the film. but Prem assured me that my character will have a bigger, more integral arc in the second part,” said Ravichandran, revealing that KD The Devil will be a two-part saga. He added that he felt it was his moral obligation to help Prem bring to life the vision that he has for the film, even though he has only a small part in this instalment.
“Prem came to my house with an entourage of about 15 people over 10 days, just to finalize my look in the film. I eventually acted in the film for only 6 days. He’d look at my wig and not be pleased and ask for a change, only to return with the same hairpiece albeit with a strand or two less,” added Ravichandran, who also pulled leading man Dhruva Sarja’s leg about taking at least 3 years to make each of his films.

KD, produced by KVN Productions, also stars Reeshma Nanaiah, Sanjay Dutt, Ramesh Aravind, among others in pivotal roles. The film has music by Arjun Janya, while cinematography is by William David. The film’s teaser was first launched in Mumbai, following which the team travelled to Hyderabad, Chennai and Kochi and then culminated the promotional tour in Bengaluru. The reception to the teaser has been mixed, with some appreciating the action-packed sequences, while others thought that it was below average. The film will release on September 4, when it will be revealed what Prem has ‘cooked’ after all.
