Vinoth Kishan, who was seen in Anantham, (streaming on Zee5), will be teaming up with Keerthi Pandian in Konjam Pesinaal Yenna. Filmmaker Venkat Prabhu, whose latest outing Manmatha Leelai is streaming on aha Tamil, revealed the Konjam Pesinaal Yenna title, with a teaser poster on Twitter, recently. Konjam Pesinaal Yenna, directed by Girimurphy (assistant to cinematographer Om Prakash in Maari and Aramm), will be bankrolled by Sameer Bharath Ram under Super Talkies.

The production banner is financing Yogi Babu's Panni Kutti. While Girimurphy and Vignesh Vijayakumar has penned the dialogues jointly, more details about Konjam Pesinaal Yenna will be revealed soon. Touted to be a love story that aims to break stereotypes about women, Konjam Pesinaal Yenna has editing by Dhanasekar, cinematography by Lenin A and music by Deepan Chakravarthy. Konjam Pesinaal Yenna marks the first collaboration of both Keerthi Pandian and Vinoth Kishan. Keerthi, whose latest release was Anbirkiniyal, made her debut in Tamil cinema with Thumba (streaming on Zee5.) Starring Dharshan of Kanaa fame in the lead and Kalakka Povathu Yaaru-fame Dheena, the film is directed by debutant Harish Ram. Up next, she has Kannagi in her kitty. Vinoth has been seen in films like Naan Mahaan Alla, Andhaghaaram, and Nayanthara's Imaikkaa Nodigal. Also, Vinoth has Beginning, in the pipeline; which the makers claim it, be "Asia's first split-screen film". Speaking about how Konjam Pesinaal Yenna came into being, Girimurphy tells Silverscreen, "The producer contacted me after seeing my short films. He asked if I could work on a love story and I pitched this one, which he liked. We then developed it."

"As a director, I like to make films rooted in reality. Konjam Pesinaal Yenna is a story about a girl who likes a boy at her school, but she doesn't express her feelings. Whether she can get together with him, later in life, when the boy is not even aware of the girl’s existence, forms the crux of the story. Usually, movies portray men pursuing women, but I have reversed the idea. I would like to break the stereotypes of female characters in films and also avoid their objectification in item songs and such," Girimurphy had told Silverscreen.

Konjam Pesinaal Yenna, which went on floors last year, was wrapped up in February this year. Extensively shot in Bengaluru and Madurai, Konjam Pesinaal Yenna is in the post-production stage.
