Kenatha Kanom release date, trailer out: In search of water, Yogi Babu and villagers land in ever bigger trouble

We had earlier reported that actor Yogi Babu will be headlining a film titled Kenatha Kanom, which will be heading for a theatrical release. The makers released the trailer of the rural comedy on social media on Friday.

Kenatha Kanom trailer: What is Yogi Babu new film about?

Kenatha Kanon is an upcoming Tamil film which will feature actor-comedian Yogi Babu in the lead role. The trailer of the film is now out. The trailer of Kenatha Kanom starts with a temple festival at a village where some women are possessed. Yogi Babu appears to play a priest, as he along with others in the village are facing water scarcity. There is a love track for Yogi Babu as well. Then, the villagers plan to dig a well but find something else. The shocking discovery leads to the officials annexing the village much to the disarray of the villagers.

What is Kenatha Kanom release date?

Kenatha Kanom is set to release in theatres on March 13. The film will have a big screen run, followed by an OTT release. The post-theatrical streaming rights of Kenatha Kanom have been bagged by JioHotstar. Subscribers of OTTplay Premium can also watch the film after its theatrical run.

Billed to be a rural comedy drama, the film will revolve around the villagers who have a common goal to solve their water scarcity issue. However, it leads to a serious of shocking discoveries, making them face a much bigger problem.

What do we know about Kenatha Kanom?

The film directed by Suresh Sangaiah who is no more and had died in November 2024 after contacting jaundice. He had made films like Oru Kidayin Karunai Manu and Sathya Sodhanai. Apart from Yogi Babu, Kenatha Kanom also features Lovelyn Chandrasekhar, Ramakrishnan, Raichel Rabecca, George Mariyam, Mottai Rajendiran, Kavitha Barathi, Kalaipandiyan, Hello Kandasamy and many others. The technical crew includes Nivas K Prasanna scoring the music and V Thiyagarajan as the cinematographer. R Ramar has edited the rural drama.
