Kerala Crime Files Season 2 made its OTT premiere on JioHotstar on June 20, 2025, and has mostly garnered positive reviews from audiences. The second season of Ahammed Khabeer’s series follows the cops as they go in search of CPO Ambili Raju. With a stellar new cast joining Lal and Aju Varghese, Kerala Crime Files Season 2 is winning praise for its intriguing plot and performances. But if you are still unsure of tuning into the latest Malayalam series, here are the reasons as to why you should watch Kerala Crime Files Season 2 on OTT.
The second season takes us to a police station in the Thiruvananthapuram rural, where CPO Ambili Raju has been reported missing and the cops are trying to track him down. As the plot unravels through the six-series episodes, we realise that there is more to Ambili Raju, with his connections across the board, and his connection with an ex-convict Ayyappan comes to board. Rookie SI Noble leads the probe along with senior officer Kurian, along with other cops.
Kerala Crime Files Season 1, which released in 2023, begins with the murder of a sex worker. As the victim was not a high-profile person, there was hardly any media coverage for the incident. However, in Season 2, the missing person is a cop himself who also seems to have a lot going on. And the incidents are happening at a police station, which is already in the news after the entire set of police personnel were transferred and that too in the Kerala capital, raising the stakes for season 2.

Arjun Radhakrishnan leads the probe and the second season as SI Noble, along with Indrans as the mysterious Ambili Raju, adding a freshness to the proceedings. Harisree Asokan appears as Ayyappan, while filmmaker-actor Jeo Baby appears as the incharge of a dog shelter. Lal reprises his role as Kurian, while Aju Varghese is back as Manoj who also gets linked to the case.
Even when super cops rule the screens in most of the other industries, Malayalam cinema has churned out police stories that stay grounded. Ahammed Khabeer follows the same approach for the series too, with ordinary folks in the khakhee and trying to fulfil their duties with their wit and the available resources. The series is mostly set in real locations in Thiruvanthapuram and even the police station and quarters all giving a realistic feel.
One of the main highlights of KCF S2 is Bahul Ramesh, who has penned the script and dialogues. Bahul is best known for scripting Kishkindha Kaandam, the Asif Ali-led slow-burn thriller. With the positive reviews coming in, it sure looks like Babul coming on board has definitely elevated Kerala Crime Files. Another highlight is Hesham Abdul Wahab’s background score, which adds to the overall thrilling atmosphere of the latest season
