The Bollywood Box Office struggles continue since after Salman Khan's Sikandar and Sunny Deol's Jaat, Akshay Kumar's Kesari: Chapter 2 is also struggling in terms of advance booking. The early Box Office numbers of Akshay's film, based on the true story of Jallianwallah Bagh, show that the film's progress is rather slow. It is slower than both Jaat and, of course, even Sikandar. Here's the Box Office early estimate for Kesari: Chapter 2 and what it means...
Kesari: Chapter 2, featuring Akshay Kumar, Hisaab Barabar actor R. Madhavan and Ananya Panday in the lead roles, has minted Rs. 3 crore only in advance booking, according to Sacnilk. The movie sold approximately 56,969 tickets. However, there's a big factor involved, which makes us sure that the Box Office numbers could see a good spike throughout the day.
Kesari: Chapter 2's big benefit is that it has released on a holiday i.e. Good Friday. This means that the Box Office numbers could soon see a huge spike on day 1, which is almost sure to be followed with weekend collections. Does that mean Kesari: Chapter 2 can beat Jaat and Sikandar? Let's find out...
Salman Khan's Sikandar and Sunny Deol's Jaat (which is still lagging a lot behind Gadar 2's Box Office collections) missed out on a crucial aspect that Karan Johar's Kesari 2 has banked upon. It is the holiday factor. While Sikandar missed out on first Friday and Saturday by releasing on a Sunday, Sunny Deol's Jaat did not enjoy a holiday even if it had an early release (on Thursday). So, the holiday factor could play a huge role in Kesari 2's Box Office. Whether the movie will enter Rs. 100 crore club already though, is a different discussion and we would have better clarity on it as the day passes.
