Madhavan, into Kesari Chapter 2, also known as Kesari 2. For those unfamiliar, Karan Johar recently confirmed that Dharma Productions is backing a project he considers one of his proudest endeavors. Though he didn’t explicitly name the film, he shared a note on a saffron-colored background with saffron heart emojis in the caption—strongly hinting at Kesari Chapter 2. However, what he did confirm is that the film’s director is a debutant filmmaker who has worked tirelessly on the project for four to five years.
In his latest post today, Karan officially confirmed that the film is indeed Kesari Chapter 2, with the official announcement set to take place tomorrow. Dharma Productions also marked the sixth anniversary of Akshay Kumar and Parineeti Chopra’s historical drama Kesari , a film that resonated deeply with audiences. While celebrating the milestone, the production house subtly confirmed the sequel, writing in an Instagram post:

Yesterday, Karan Johar shared a heartfelt note on Instagram, expressing his immense pride in presenting an upcoming film. Though he did not explicitly name it, the saffron background and heart emojis made it clear that he was referring to Kesari: Chapter 2.
Karan Johar wrote: “I am so proud to say that our next offering is the 24th debutant filmmaker we have introduced to Hindi cinema! (Trivia for trollers: 90% of them are ‘outsiders’). I rarely write notes before the release of a film, but few films excite me, energize me, and inspire me the way the process of this film has. Our collaborative producer and debutant director have been on the journey of this film for four years.”
He further added: “The director did nothing else but put his head down and work relentlessly on his film, combating pandemic delays and other unforeseen circumstances. I am inspired by the team of actors and technicians who gave the film and the team so much consistent support and love. One can never predict commercial success, BUT what I can say with all my heart is that this film is one of Dharma’s proudest films. I say this as a filmmaker and an audience. According to reports, the debutant director in question is Karan Singh Tyagi, who previously worked as a writer on Amazon Prime Video’s Bandish Bandits. This confirms that Kesari Chapter 2, starring Ananya Panday, Akshay Kumar, and R. Madhavan, has been helmed by Karan Singh Tyagi and rebranded under Dharma Productions.
