R. Madhavan is undoubtedly a versatile actor. He can pull off any roles, whether its a negative or a romantic. He will be seen in the Karan Johar-produced film, Kesari Chapter 2. The trailer for the film was released today, April 3. During the trailer launch event, Madhavan opened up about doing a negative role in the film after Shaitaan and also expressed his gratitude for sharing the screen space with Akshay Kumar.
R. Madhavan on Kesari Chapter 2
During the trailer launch of Kesari Chapter 2, R. Madhavan said that he feels happy to share the screen space with Akshay Kumar who will be seen as C Sankaran Nair. For the unversed, Madhavan will play the antagonist, Neville McKinley, a lawyer. Kesari Chapter 2 is centered around the Jallianwala Bagh massacre.
He said, "When I choose to do a film, I look at the purpose behind why the film is made. This was Dharma with Karan Johar and Apoorva Mehta making a film called Kesari Chapter 2 with Akshay Sir and the director Karan Singh Tyagi who is a law graduate from Havard and they all came up together."

He further added, "It's been a very irritating chapter in school because we needed to memorize what happened then slowly we got older, we remembered that this is very bad, then from people, we got to know that it is such a big massacre. When I did the film, I realized that this is one of the biggest genocides in the world. I felt that no other stories can be better than this for me. I don't mind whether my character is negative or positive."
