Stand-up comedian and actor Kevin Hart has signed a Netflix film titled Lift. The heist film is being helmed by director F Gary Gray. Netflix bought the rights to the film in March 2020 and the special script has been penned by Dan Kunka. Meanwhile, Simon Kinberg and Audrey Chon for Genre Pictures, Matt Reeves and Adam Kassan for 6th & Idaho and Hart and Brian Smiley for HartBeat Productions are the producers of Lift.
In the film, Kevin will be seen playing the role of a master thief who is wooed by his ex-girlfriend and the FBI. He is making the plan to pull off an impossible heist with his international crew on a 777 flying from London to Zurich.
While announcing Lift, Hart posted the news report on his Instagram page and stated, "All I can say is F*** YEAH!!!!! Finally getting to work with F Gary Gray ….This movie is a dream come true. Raising the bar and finding the projects that give me the best opportunity to show growth is a priority of mines as well as HartBeat productions…"
The comedian further thanked the producers and Netflix by adding, "Major thank you to my partners @netflix and my producing partners' Genre pictures as well as 6th & Idaho ….This film is going to be special!!!!!! Let’s gooooooooo!!!!!!! I’m so proud of my entire team at HartBeat Productions….You guys are crushing!!!!! #HartBeatProductions #Lift #ComingSoon."
Meanwhile, Hart was last seen in Fatherhood based on Matthew Logelin's memoir titled Two Kisses for Maddy: A Memoir of Loss and Love. The film skipped a theatrical release and dropped on Netflix earlier this year.
His upcoming film is an action-comedy titled The Man from Toronto co-starring Woody Harrelson, Kaley Cuoco, and Ellen Barkin.
