KGF: Chapter 2 hit theatres around the globe on April 14 and it was expected to break multiple box office records after its first few shows. And the movie, starring Yash, has done just that. The crime thriller has now breached the Rs. 1,000 crore mark.

Trade analyst Ramesh Bala took to Twitter to share the big news with the fans. He revealed that the movie has crossed the Rs. 1000 crore mark and it has now become the fourth movie to achieve this feat, after Aamir Khan’s Dangal, and S.S. Rajamouli’s Baahubali: 2, starring Prabhas and RRR, starring Ram Charan and Jr NTR.

The movie has done exceptionally well in all languages, especially in Hindi. The latest reports reveal that the Hindi version of the movie has grossed Rs. 350 crore, giving tough competition to recently released films like Shahid Kapoor’s Jersey, Ajay Devgn and Amitabh Bachchan starrer Runway 34 and Tiger Shroff’s Heropanti 2.

According to business analyst, Taran Adarsh, the movie earned Rs. 4.25 crore on its third Friday and Rs. 7.25 crore on its third Saturday in the Hindi belts, and has taken its total collection to a whopping Rs. 360.31 crore.

Directed by Prasanth Neel, the movie is the second part of KGF which was released in 2018. Apart from Yash reprising his role as Rocky Bhai, the movie also stars Sanjay Dutt as the main antagonist, Adheera, Raveena Tandon as Ramika Sen and Srinidhi Shetty as the love interest of Rocky.

“Rocking Star Yash’s fans can rejoice. If he announced his arrival as a pan-Indian star with Chapter 1, with Chapter 2 he proclaims that he’s here to stay,'' reads the movie’s review on OTTplay.

The movie is available in theatres around the country in Kannada, Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam and Hindi.
