Yash’s KGF: Chapter 2 was one of the most-anticipated movies of the year, and it has delivered big at the box office. The movie and its lead, Rocky, have driven audiences to the theatres and are also a massive pop culture figure in the country today.
While we know larger than life heroes such as Rocky Bhai can inspire thousands of viewers, it has now inspired one teen towards a dangerous path. In this case of following gone wrong, a 15-year-old teen in Hyderabad reportedly smoked entire packs of cigarettes after watching the movie. This was also the very first time that he had smoked and soon started feeling sick, developing a severe cough and throat ache before he was rushed to a hospital.
“Movies are a highly influencing element of our society, and it is important movie makers and actors have a moral responsibility to not glamourize acts like smoking cigarettes or chewing tobacco or consuming alcohol”, Pulmonologist Dr Rohit Reddy told ANI.
KGF: Chapter 2, which is helmed by Prashanth Neel, has already set a long list of records at the box office, including its Hindi version. KGF: Chapter 2 also became just the second movie since Rajamouli’s Baahubali: The Conclusion, to mint Rs. 1000 crore at the domestic box office. The movie hit theatres on April 14 and received glowing reviews.
