'KGF 3' to not take off anytime soon, other projects current priority: Hombale Films

The 'KGF' mania refuses to die down as speculations surrounding 'Chapter 3' continue to find traction. With several reports claiming that the third installment is likely to go on floors in October of 2022, and that producer Vijay Kiragandur has confirmed the same, fans have been led to believe that the much-anticipated film is finally in the offing. A few other reports also suggested that the makers are keen on a film for 'Chapter 3' that's on par with the Marvel franchise, thus fueling the topic further.

In this vein, producer and prominent part of Hombale Films, Karthik Gowda, took it upon himself to refute all theories and clear the air for the fans. Taking to social media recently, Karthik Gowda specified that all news concerning the making of KGF 3 is pure speculation and that Hombale Films has currently prioritized other exciting projects. He added that the team will certainly make an official announcement once the work towards Chapter 3 begins.

"The news doing the rounds are all speculation. With a lot of exciting projects ahead of us, we @hombalefilms will not be starting #KGF3 anytime soon. We will let you know with a bang when we start the work towards it," wrote Karthik Gowda in his tweet.

Karthik Gowda is the executive producer on the KGF films and has also produced films like 'Ratnan Prapancha' along with Yogi G. Raj under the KRG Studios banner. 

Prashanth Neel, the writer-director of the KGF films, is currently busy with the making of his next magnum opus, 'Salaar', which stars Prabhas and Shruti Haasan in the lead. Salaar too has been produced by Hombale Films and the film recently got a verified social media handle, much to the delight of all the fans. Neel, once done with Salaar, is expected to begin work on the Jr. NTR project that is to be co-produced by the 'RRR' actor himself along with Mythri Movie Makers.

'KGF: Chapter 2', on the other hand, continues to have a stronghold at the box office. The film is currently the second-highest grosser in India (after 'Baahubali - The Conclusion') and is ranked #3 in the list of highest global grossers (Indian movies) after Aamir Khan's Dangal and S.S. Rajamouli's Baahubali 2.
