Sanjay Dutt caught everyone’s attention as the menacing Adheera, ever since he was announced in the role. KGF director Prasanth Neel says casting the Bollywood star was a no-brainer.

“Casting Sanjay sir was a no-brainer. We had written (about) him before while scripting for the first chapter, but we didn’t approach him till it became successful,” he told PTI. The director also talked about casting Raveena Tandon in the movie, saying, “I wanted a Hindi speaking person for that. So, there was no other thought than Raveena madam,” he added

The director also talked about the immense pressure there is in making a sequel to a movie that was as successful as KGF. He says that everyone has a story idea for the second part after seeing the first movie. Because of this the pressure is on how they look at the story and not at how much money it can make.

The director further added that he is here to tell a story and is hoping that the story will connect with the people. KGF: Chapter 2 is one of the biggest releases of the year, following the success of the first movie in 2018.

KGF: Chapter 2 also features Srinidhi Shetty, Prakash Raj, Ramachandra Raju and Achyuth Kumar in other important roles. The period action entertainer has received positive reviews from the critics and great response from the audience as well.

The movie has also gotten off to a great start at the box office, with the makers confirming that more than 40 Lakh tickets were sold in pre-booking sales. The movie has also collected over $900K on its first day in the United States box office.

KGF is available in theatres around the country in Kannada, Tamil, Malayalam, Telugu and Hindi.
