KGF: Chapter 2 is only a week away and advance ticket booking for the magnum opus began in multiple locations across the globe over the past few days. As of today, bookings begin in the north Indian belt, Kerala and Tamil as well, but back home in Karnataka, the wait continues. Fans who were hopeful of bookings opening on April 8, after reports emerged that the first list of theatres in the state would be announced, were left a tad disheartened last night, when the banner, Hombale Films, took to social media that bookings in Karnataka and Andhra/Telangana would open only on April 10.

“#KGFChapter2 Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana Advance Booking opens on April 10th in @bookmyshow & @Paytm,” read the post. “Yakro astu delay bookings open madoke 🙄atleast Saturday evening adru start madbahudittu,” was one of many responses to this, all in the same vein. Industry insiders believe that bookings for Kerala and Tamil Nadu were opened early because Vijay’s Beast will be major competition in those markets. The response to the Telugu version of the film in the overseas market has also bolstered the makers’ confidence of a good showing in Andhra and Telangana. The delay for bookings opening in these centres is being attributed to the logistics of early morning shows and the split of Telugu vs Kannada version in the Andhra/Telangana region. As of now, the buzz is that Karnataka will have shows as early as 4 am on April 14, while rumours suggest that there maybe several midnight shows for fans. This, however, has not been confirmed yet.

Produced by Hombale Films and directed by Prashant Neel, KGF: Chapter 2 is the second and final instalment in the KGF saga, the first of which released in 2018. The film has Rocking Star Yash in the lead, along with Srinidhi Shetty, Prakash Raj, Sanjay Dutt, Raveena Tandon, Achyuth Kumar, Saran Sakthi, Archana Jois, Vasishta N Simha, Tarak Ponnappa, John Kokken, Ayyappa P Sharma, BS Avinash, Malavika Avinash, among many others. The film has cinematography by Bhuvan Gowda and music by Ravi Basrur. The film is being presented in North-Indian markets by Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar’s Excel Entertainment and AA Films.
