In one-of-its-kind initiative, the makers of the KGF film franchise, Hombale Films have collaborated with the Indian Premier League (IPL) team, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) with an aim to bring together the two things Indians love the most - cricket and movies.
This association aims to bring sports, movies, multi-format content, lifestyle and more. The makers have released a video announcing the collaboration and giving fans an adrenaline rush, assuring a roller coaster ride. The video shows glimpses of the movie and players from the RCB team with a piece of intense music.
According to Free Press Journal, Vijay Kirangandur, founder of Hombale Films, said that the association comes naturally to them as both Hombale Films and RCB are born in Bangalore and both have engaged in creating mass entertainment for the fans. "We are very excited about this collaboration that we have been working on for a while now and 2022 just got a lot bigger and more Royal for us. We look forward to integrate, create and celebrate in a royal manner. Together we will try to evolve and create, weave magic for our fans in the movies, sports, lifestyle, content and more,” he said.
Rajesh Menon, Vice President & Head, RCB, also spoke about the partnership. He said that they are delighted to associate with a pioneering production house to thrill the nation. "Cricket and films are two of the most popular cultural signposts in India and joining hands with Hombale Films is a natural extension of our long-term vision of integrating cricket, entertainment, and films," he added.
Meanwhile, KGF: Chapter 2 will hit the theatres on April 14. The pan-Indian film will release in Kannada, Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu and Hindi. Directed by Prashanth Neel, the sequel to the 2018 film, KGF: Chapter 1 also features Srinidhi Shetty, Raveena Tandon, Sanjay Dutt and Prakash Raj, among others.
