KGF Chapter 2: One-minute silence observed for Puneeth Rajkumar at trailer launch event

The trailer launch of KGF Chapter 2 was held in Bengaluru today on March 27 and was graced by the cast and crew that includes Yash, Srinidhi Shetty, Sanjay Dutt, Prakash Raj and Raveena Tandon. Apart from the cast and crew, Bollywood filmmaker Karan Johar turned host for the evening.

Written and directed by Prashanth Neel, the film will release in Kannada, Tamil, Malayalam, Telugu and Hindi on April 14. The presenters from each state, except Ram Charan (Telugu), were also present at the event. Prithviraj Sukumaran presents the film in Malayalam.

The trailer was launched by Shiva Rajkumar. He remembered his brother and popular actor, Puneeth Rajkumar, who passed away recently. He said 'appu' (a term people use to express their love and respect for late actor, Puneeth) is not there today but the show must go on.

To pay their respects, everyone prayed in silence for a minute before Shivanna called 'action' and the trailer was launched in all languages. Every distinguished guest also remembered Puneeth today and paid their respects during their speeches, including Yash, filmmaker Neel and the lead actress Srinidhi.

The chief guest at the event was the IB Minister of Karnataka, Dr CN Ashwath Narayan. He said he as eager as a film lover to watch the pan Indian film. Yash listed out everyone, including his stylist and spotboys who made the film possible. He said he has mixed feelings at the moment but expressed his eagerness for the audiences to watch the film.

Produced by Vijay Kiragandur; Bhaumik Gondaliya under the banner of Hombale Films, the film is a sequel to KGF: Chapter 1, which was released in 2018.
