KGF – Chapter 2 overseas bookings: Yash film is the first south Indian movie to release in Greece

after announcing that the UK bookings for the film opened to stupendous response with over 5,000 tickets picked up in only 12 hours, the film is adding more records to its kitty. While US bookings are also open and on course to be sold out soon, among the European nations that will feel Rocky Bhai’s hawa is Greece, making KGF: Chapter 2 the first south Indian film to be released there. Reports suggest that all five versions – Kannada, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Hindi – will find shows in Greece. Meanwhile, in Russia, the film will release in five versions, but with Russian subtitles to boot.

Meanwhile, back home in Karnataka, the excitement surrounding the film is on the rise, with fans eagerly awaiting news on advance bookings opening in the state. The first list of theatres is expected to be released on Friday, April 8, along with advance bookings opening. Several theatres in Kerala have already begun advance bookings for KGF: Chapter 2.

Industry insiders say that the Hombale Films produced movie will likely get around 250 screens only in Tamil Nadu, where Vijay’s film Beast will release a day ahead on April 13. Beast will affect the number of screens KGF: Chapter 2 gets in Kerala as well. With RRR still going strong, there may be limitations on the number of screens for KGF2 in the Andhra/Telangana belt too, but the Telugu version is expected to do well in that market. In the Hindi belt, KGF: Chapter 2 is expected to get better returns than Shahid Kapoor’s Jersey, which is also releasing on April 14.
