One of the most eagerly awaited films of the year, KGF: Chapter 2 is only three weeks away from its date with audiences. And while the banner, Hombale Films is yet to begin its publicity blitzkrieg, according to producer Vijay Kiragandur, his team has been working rigorously to ensure that all logistics are in place to ensure that the pan-India film, which is releasing in Kannada, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Hindi, will get at least 6,000 screens on April 14. This despite the fact that KGF: Chapter 2 will have sizeable competition in some markets, from Vijay’s Beast (which is releasing on April 13) and Shahid Kapoor’s Jersey (the Hindi remake of the 2019 Telugu film by the same name).
In conversation with an online publication, the Hombale Films founder said that he and his team are hopeful of getting to the desired number of 6,000 screens. Mighty pleased with the response to the teaser and the recently-released song Toofan, Vijay said that the trailer on March 27 will find an even bigger audience. The event, scheduled to be held at a Bengaluru multiplex will have several big names from other industries joining team KGF, as was the case back in 2018 when the original film released.
The trailer launch of KGF: Chapter 1 saw Hombale fly in media from across the country as Yash took the lead to introduce himself and his film to the world. The event had Tamil actor Vishal in attendance, as he was presenting the film in Tamil Nadu. This time around, Malayalam star Prithviraj is expected to be at the event, as he is presenting the Malayalam version of KGF: Chapter 2 in Kerala. The film is being presented in North-Indian markets by Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar’s Excel Entertainment and AA Films.
