The moment we have all been waiting for is finally here. Hombale Films, the makers of the magnum opus KGF saga released the trailer of the second and final instalment of the movie series, KGF: Chapter 2, at an event hosted by popular Bollywood filmmaker and TV host, Karan Johar. The Telugu, Tamil, Hindi and Malayalam versions of the trailer were launched today at 6:40 by Ram Charan, Suriya, Farhan Akhtar and Prithviraj respectively.

The closing chapter to Rocky Bhai’s saga promises to be a story written in blood and marred in violence at every turn. It seems to be the price he must pay to bring justice to the downtrodden. It is a price Rocky Bhai is willing to pay. He himself says, “Violence, violence, violence. I don’t like it, I avoid it. But violence likes me, I can’t avoid it.”

KGF: Chapter 2 is directed by Prashant Neel. It has music by Ravi Basrur and cinematography by Bhuvan Gowda. The film has a massive ensemble cast, boasting names like Prakash Raj, Sanjay Dutt, Raveena Tandon, Srinidhi Shetty, Ramachandra Raju, Vasishta N Simha, Saran Sakthi, Archana Jois, Malavika Avinash and Achyuth Kumar among many others.

According to producer Vijay Kiragandur, KGF: Chapter 2 is aiming for a 6,000-screen release world-wide on April 14. The film, incidentally, will be in a three-way box-office battle, with Vijay’s film Beast releasing on April 13 and Shahid Kapoor’s Jersey coming out on April 14. Industry insiders, though, say that Beast and Jersey are likely to affect KGF’s prospects only in Tamil Nadu, Kerala and the Hindi belt.

The film, meanwhile, is being presented by Prithviraj in the Kerala market, where he will distribute it. It is being presented in North-Indian markets by producers Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar through Excel Entertainment and AA Films.
