The actress was last seen in the Kannada film Hondisi Bareyiri
Danseuse and actress Archana Jois is a few films old now, but is best remembered as Rocky Bhai’s mother in the KGF franchise. Since KGF: Chapter 2 came out, Archana has been trying to build a filmography of vastly different subjects, but it is going to take some doing before people refer to her without the KGF prefix. This year, she had two releases, Hondisi Bareyiri, a multi-starrer in which she was paired opposite Naveen Shankar, and #Mute, which had her in the lead, but was a direct-to-OTT release on Namma Flix.
The actress has now been signed up for another interesting project. Krishna Ajai Rao, who is currently in the middle of his home production Yuddhakaanda, has got Archana onboard for a pivotal role in the legal drama, in which he is paired with Supritha Sathyanarayan. The film, directed by Cutting Shop fame Pavan Bhat, is nearly half-done and once Archana joins the set, the team is hopeful of winding up the rest of the talkie portions shortly. Speaking to New Indian Express, Ajai had said that it was a no-brainer to get Archana on board. The role was written keeping the actress in mind, based on her performance in the KGF series. Ajai, however, refrained from revealing details about her role in the legal drama, which is being shot in Bengaluru.
Yuddhakaanda is Ajai’s second home venture after Krishna Leela. The title of the film has been borrowed from the 1989 V Ravichandran starrer, which, incidentally, had the Crazy Star in the role of a lawyer. Director Pavan insists that the similarities between the two films end with the title. Archana, we hear, will also be seen in the upcoming Kannada films Nakshe and Kalankata.
