The Kamal Haasan-Rajinikanth film has been officially announced, and the makers have also unveiled a retro-styled promo, which has already made fans go excited. Directed by Nelson Dilipkumar, the film is yet to commence. However, as the promo has been getting good reception, fans cannot stop but recall a certain Santhanam film which is very similar to the upcoming multi-starrer.

The KHxRK promo, which celebrates the reunion of actors Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan, is now out. The stalwarts of Tamil cinema will be reuniting for the first time in 47 years for an upcoming Tamil film, the announcement of which was made on Saturday in style.
The promo featured the two heroes, dressed in retro style, as their swag dominates the screen. The promo concludes when both the stars get into a car, with Nelson Dilipkumar and Anirudh Ravichander on the backseat. Before starting the car, Kamal and Rajini ask Nelson who is the hero of the film, with Nelson visibly dumb-folded.
Some of the fans were reminded of an old Tamil film, in which one of the scenes is featured inside a car with four people. The scene is from 2023 Tamil film Vadakupatti Ramasamy starring Santhanam, which has one of them praise a duo and that they are as close as poori and potato, but the duo asks them to tell who is poori and potato among them.

The film is written and directed by Nelson Dilipkumar in his first collaboration with Kamal Haasan and third with Rajinikanth after Jailer and ongoing Jailer 2. Anirudh Ravichander will be scoring the music and Rajiv Menon will be cranking the camera. The release date for the film is yet to be announced by the makers.
