Khakee: The Bihar Chapter's Karan Tacker pens a heartfelt note to real-life Amit Lodha

Actor Karan Tacker plays the character of Amit Lodha in the web series Khakee: The Bihar Chapter. The series is based on the real-life incident of an IPS officer and how he, along with his department, tracked down a deadly criminal in Bihar between 2000 and 2006.

The actor took a moment to write a heartfelt note to express his gratitude to the police officer and mentioned how filming the series and emoting the character of such a dedicated police officer changed him as a citizen.

Karan wrote, "Had it not been for his struggles, we would have not had a show to make. IPS Amit Lodha, thank you for your efforts, for the life you lived, that I got to emulate your life on celluloid."

He also mentioned that not only as an actor, but also as a citizen, his respect for the police force has increased after realising how the men in uniform work hard day in and day out to keep the nation safe and secure.

The actor went through physical and emotional transformation to get into the skin of the character. From gaining weight and sporting a moustache, to learning and acing the mannerisms of a police officer set in the early 2000s of Bihar, Karan left no stone unturned.

This is the third collaboration between Karan and celebrated filmmaker Neeraj Pandey. They earlier worked together in the show Special OPS and Special Ops 1.5: The Himmat Story.

Starting his career in television, playing a much-loved character in the show Ek Hazaaron Mein Meri Behna Hai, Karan has proven his versatility in many shows and on reality TV.

Khakee: The Bihar Chapter is based on real-life stories that are captured in the novel Bihar Diaries: The True Story of How Bihar's Most Dangerous Criminal Was Caught, written by IPS officer Amit Lodha.

The show, also stars Jatin Sarna, Ashutosh Rana, Aishwarya Sushmita, Shraddha Das, Nikita Dutta, Vinay Pathak and Anup Soni. It is streaming on Netflix.
