The 1993 film, Khal Nayak, stars Madhuri Dixit and Sanjay Dutt in the lead roles. Directed by Subhash Ghai, the action-crime film follows the story of Inspector Ram (Jackie Shroff) and his girlfriend, cop Ganga (Madhuri Dixit), who attempt to recapture the escaped criminal Ballu (Sanjay Dutt) after he escapes jail. Khal Nayak sequel update

As per a Filmfare report, Subhash Ghai is reportedly making a sequel to his 1993 film, Khal Nayak. The source added, "Subhash ji is excited about staging a sequel to Khal Nayak. The story will be based on new characters played by newcomers. But add the original appeal, with Madhuri Dixit and Sanjay Dutt might be roped in for special roles. It's a project in the making right now, but Subhash ji and his team are very excited about this project."

The source also mentioned that the newcomers will bring a new freshness to the story, and Madhuri and Sanjay will bring nostalgia vibes.

Khal Nayak follows the story of Inspector Ram (Jackie Shroff) and his girlfriend, Police Ganga (Madhuri Dixit), who try to recapture escaped criminal Ballu (Sanjay Dutt) after he escapes from jail. Driven by a desire to clear Ram's reputation, Ganga secretly goes to bring Ballu back, but the situation becomes complicated when Ballu starts developing feelings for her.

The film explores themes of love, loyalty, and the complex nature of good and evil, with the story revolving around a cat-and-mouse chase and personal sacrifice.

Madhuri Dixit and Sanjay Dutt's work front

Madhuri, who was recently seen in Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, is reportedly in talks for a comedy film, Ma Behen, co-starring Triptii Dimri and Ravi Kishan. The film is being produced under Vikram Malhotra’s production banner, Abundantia Entertainment, and will directly land on Netflix, as per Pepping Moon. The film is being directed by Suresh Triveni, and it is a character-centric comedy-drama focused on three main characters. Madhuri Dixit and Triptii Dimri will play the mother-daughter duo at the center of the story. 

Meanwhile, Sanjay Dutt has Housefull 5 and Baaghi 4 in the pipeline.
