Khela Jawkhon: Arindam Sil’s Khela jokhon gets a release date as Mimi and Arjun get back together

Mimi Chakraborty and Arjun Chakrabarty stunned with their presence in Rituparno Ghosh’s Gaaner Oparey in 2010. Later they were seen in Bapi Bari Jaa in 2012 and Crisscross in 2018. Now they are back together in Arindam Sil’s thriller Khela Jowkhon. Billed as an action thriller, the film also features Susmita Chatterjee. While the poster of the film was released on November 8, the film will be released on December 2. 

Khela Jawkhon is produced under the banner of SVF, Camellia Production, and Rajprotim Ventures. The film follows a horrific accident that led Urmi, played by Mimi Chakraborty, to take some drastic steps in search of her identity. She tries to unlock every clue, as every event mounts in intensity. She fights for the truth and reality. The film deals with the complexities that arise from the question of what is the truth and what is not.

Besides Arjun, Mimi, and Susmita, Khela Jawkhon also features a host of actors, including Harsh Chhaya, June Malia, Barun Chanda, Alokananda Roy, Arna Mukhopadhyay, Joydip Kundu, Ashim Roychowdhury and Karan Hariharan in key roles. Andhadhun-fame Arijit Biswas has penned the script. Arindam’s long-term associate Bickram Ghosh has composed the music. The shooting of the film took place last year in Odisha. 

In 2022, a number of Arindam Sil’s films, including Manahahda, Tirandaj Shabor, and Byomkesh Hotyamancha, were released. His other film Mayaakumari, which features Rituparna Sengupta in lead, will also be released soon. The director has been working on a Feluda web series, Shabash Feluda, for Zee5. Parambrata Chatterjee will be seen as Satyajit Ray’s iconic sleuth. Rwitobroto Mukherjee will be seen as Topshe – Feluda’s cousin-cum-assistant.
