Mimi Chakraborty, Arjun Chakrabarty, and Susmita Chatterjee’s Khekha Jowkhon will hit the theatres on December 2. Directed by Arindam Sil, the trailer of the action-thriller was dropped on November 12. The film also features Barun Chanda, Harsh Chhaya, and others. Like most of Arindam’s other films, Bickram Ghosh composed the music and the background score.
The trailer looks smart and crisp focusing on Urmi, aka Mimi’s, past accident, memory loss, and Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). In a car crash, Mimi and Arjun lose their child, Bubai. Urmi can’t come to terms with the loss. Meanwhile, she gets mysterious calls indicating that her child is still alive. Arjun, her husband, fails to convince her that Bubai will not come back. On the other hand, police also get suspicious of the accident narration.
Mimi Chakraborty and Arjun Chakrabarty stunned with their presence in Rituparno Ghosh’s Gaaner Oparey in 2010. Later they were seen in Bapi Bari Jaa in 2012 and Crisscross in 2018. Now they are back together in Arindam’s upcoming film.
As per the directorial team, the film also has elements of terrorism, etc. This will be Arindam Sil’s fourth film to be released this year. Earlier, his Mahananda, Tirandaj Shabor, and Byomkesh Hotyamancha were released. Mahananda will be screened at the Indian Panorama at the 53rd International Film Festival of India (IFFI). His Mayaakumari, which features Rituparna Sengupta in lead, is also ready to be released. Arindam is currently busy shooting the Zee5 web series Shabash Feluda with Parambrata Chatterjee playing Feluda. He will start working on Bidyutlata – a female sleuth – with Sauraseni Maitra and Arjun.
Khela Jawkhon is produced under the banner of SVF, Camellia Production, and Rajprotim Ventures.
