The film, directed by Arjun Varain Singh, is co-written by Zoya Akhtar and Reema Kagti.
Kho Gaye Hum Kahan, featuring Sidhant Chaturvedi, Adarsh Gourav, and Ananya Panday, has been awaiting its release for quite some time now. Arjun Varain Singh is the director of the movie, which Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani's Excel Entertainment produced. As per the latest reports, the urban story of three youngsters will now be skipping the theatrical release. Yes, Kho Gaye Hum Kahan is set for its direct premiere on Netflix.
Change in release strategy:
Variety, while announcing the upcoming slate of Excel Entertainment, revealed the direct-to-OTT release of the film. Interestingly, this will be the third outing of the production house on the OTT giant after Eternally Confused and Eager for Love and the recently released film, Friday Night Plan.
Arjun has penned the screenplay for Kho Gaye Hum Kahan with Zoya Akhtar and Reema Kagti. They have also co-produced the film under their banner, Tiger Baby.
Adarsh Gourav's excitement
Earlier, during an exclusive interaction with OTTplay, Adarsh was asked about the film, and he stated, "Kho Gaye Hum Kahan will possibly be released earlier next year or later this year. It's a fresh film by Excel, and it has Sidhant and Ananya. It's a friendship drama based in Mumbai. It's a very modern and unique story, too. I am very excited for that because I have never played a character that's, I wouldn't say, modern, but urban and so fresh."
The title of the film is from the popular song of the same name from the film Baar Baar Dekho, created by Jasleen Royal and Prateek Kuhad.
The film was announced back in September 2021, and the shoot was completed quite some time ago. However, it seems like the OTT release of the film will happen any time soon.
Interestingly, Zoya's The Archies is also set to premiere on Netflix in December this year. So we have to wait and see where a window is created for Kho Gaye Hum Kahan.
