Vidyut Jammwal has returned with yet another high-octane action thriller with Khuda Haafiz: Chapter II – Agni Pariksha. While the movie has received decnet reviews following its release on July 8, the movie has failed to pull the big crowds into theatres around the country.

As reported by Box Office India, the movie has made around Rs. 2.5 crore on its first Sunday, ending its first weekend with a collection of Rs. 5.5 crore around the country. The Vidyut Jammwal starrer minted Rs. 1.25 crore on its first day.

The report suggests that the movie saw a rise in UP and Bihar on Sunday, as the country celebrated Eid. The movie’s collection could still increase from its current trend considering the movie has received decent reviews. But if it does fail to do so, the movie will join a list of Bollywood action movies that have failed at the box office recently such as Kangana Ranaut’s Dhaakad and Aditya Roy Kapur’s Rashtra Kavach Om.

“Agni Pariksha is one movie that you would not want to miss out on. It is a commercial entertainer with all real elements that make you uncomfortable but need to be spoken about,” read the movie’s review on OTTplay.

Bankrolled by Kumar Mangat Pathak, Abhishek Pathak, Sneha Bimal Parekh and Ram Mirchandani under the banner of Panorama Studios, the movie is the sequel to the 2020 movie Khuda Haafiz (Disney+ Hotstar). Both the movies are helmed by Faruk Kabir.

Also starring Shivaleeka Oberoi, Dibyendu Bhattacharya and Sheeba Chaddha, the movie follows Sameer Chaudhary (Jammwal) trying to lead a normal life after busting the flesh trade in the first movie. Khuda Haafiz: Chapter II – Agni Pariksha is now available in theatres around the country.
