After teasing multiple looks of Sidharth Malhotra as PVC Captain Vikram Batra, the makers of Shershaah has unveiled the first look of Kiara Advani. The actor plays the female lead in the film and this is Sidharth and her first outing onscreen. Shershaah is skipping theatrical release and will be out on Amazon Prime Video from August 12, 2021. The still from the film features Sidharth and Kiara holding hands and are all smiles.

The tagline is 'His Promise' and while sharing the photo, filmmaker Karan Johar captioned it as "A promise that lasted for forever between two hearts."

Shershaah is directed by Vishnu Varadhan and produced by Dharma Productions and Kaash Entertainment. The film also features Shiv Panditt, Raj Arjun, Pranay Pachauri, Himmanshu Ashok Malhotra, Nikitin Dheer, Ankita Goraya, Anil Charanjeett, Sahil Vaid, Shataf Figar and Pawan Chopra in supporting roles.

Earlier in a statement, Karan had spoken about the film by saying, "Shershaah is our homage to the valour of our soldiers and I hope every viewer's heart swells with pride watching this film."

On releasing the film on Amazon Prime Video, KJo further said, "We are excited to mark the beginning of a new chapter in our relationship with them."

Shershaah is Sidharth's first OTT release and the film is coming out two years after his last outing Marjaavaan which was released in 2019.

Meanwhile, Kiara made her OTT debut with Lust Stories, a Netflix film which released in 2018. Meanwhile, in 2020, she had two digital releases including Netflix original flick Guilty and Laxmii starring Akshay Kumar which streams on Disney+ Hotstar.

Her theatrical release for this year was Indoo Ki Jawani wherein she plays the titular role. The film, later on, dropped on Netflix.
