Kiccha Sudeep, who was last seen in Max, which released on Christmas 2024 and became the highest grosser of the year for Kannada cinema, is gearing up to begin shooting a project that’s been on his radar for a very long time. Sudeep, who had announced that his next after Max would have him collaborate with Vikrant Rona maker Anup Bhandari yet again, took to X moments ago to announce that their new project, Billa Ranga Baashaa will kickstart in the second week of March.
Billa Ranga Baashaa is Anup’s most ambitious project to date and is set two centuries in the future. It is said that Anup and Sudeep are looking at presenting it as a two-part tale, for which they are said to have leased out 4 acres of land on the outskirts of Bengaluru, where sets will be put up for the shoot of the film. While the film was initially meant to be produced by Sudeep and Vikrant Rona maker Manjunath Gowda, production duties now lie with PrimeShow Entertainment, the producers of films like HanuMan, Darling, etc. Sudeep’s Kichcha Creations will likely have a stake in the project, as he did with Max.
Sudeep is currently busy with the Celebrity Cricket League, as the captain of the Sandalwood team, the Karnataka Bulldozers, of which, Anup is also a member. The team has played 3 of its 4 group stage matches already and is leading the points table, with a sure-shot entry into the semi-finals that will be played in Mysuru on March 1. The actor is also basking in all the praise that’s coming his way following the simultaneous TV and OTT premiere of Max.
On February 15, moments after Sudeep and team registered their third consecutive CCL win, his fans had more reason to cheer, as Max dropped on Zee5 in Kannada, Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam, at 7.30 pm, while the original version also played on Zee Kannada, thereby ensuring that audiences had a choice of screen to watch the Vijay Kartikeyaa-directed thriller on.
