Earlier today, on June 25, the character glimpse from Sanchith Sanjeev's debut film was unveiled amid tremendous hype and curiosity. With Sanchith juggling not one but two roles of both leading man and director on this project, one was curious to know what the young artist, who happens to be Kiccha Sudeep's nephew, had in store for them. The film is yet to get on floors but one hoped the character glimpse to offer a taste of what's to come, particularly with respect to key factors such as the look and the feel. And of course, one was also interested in seeing how Sanchith Sanjeev would choose to present himself.
The film, as many have known since quite some time, is titled Jimmy and the character glimpse, which came in the form of a neatly packaged promo video, came as a formal announcement of the same. A special media event, too, was held in Bengaluru on Sunday to launch the promo with many top names of the Kannada Film Industry, including Shiva Rajkumar, Crazy Star Ravichandran, Kiccha Sudeep himself and others. Sudeep would thank the two veteran actors for "wholeheartedly" blessing his nephew.
Sanchith Sanjeev, too, would take the stage at some point and would expresse sincered gratitude to everyone involved in the making of his dream debut. In the same breath, Sudeep, who stood beside him on the stage, took hold of the mic to bring a very important matter to everyone's notice, concerning his Vikrant Rona filmmaker Anup Bhandari.
"If Jimmy is Jimmy today, the reason is Anup Bhandari. If we don't bring that out, it would be a huge mistake," said Sudeep in his trademark nonchalant manner. "I adore Anup, have immense respect for him and most importantly, I believe he is a beautiful human being. So, when the story of this was written, the first person I called is Anup Bhandari - and I call normally around 2 am because I know he is up at that time. I asked him to come over and narrated a small scene, told him Sanchith is the hero and said that I needed a title. And the man is very large-hearted so the next day he put together something with a font - he knows how to sell his ideas - and the way he presented it, Priya, I and others unanimously liked this title 'Jimmy'," added Kiccha Sudeep.
