Kannada actor-filmmakers Kiccha Sudeep and Rakshit Shetty have a mutual admiration for each other’s work and are vocal about it. In fact, the duo had even planned to collaborate on a project called Thugs of Malgudi, but, sadly, it did not materialise. When Sudeep’s Vikrant Rona trailer was launched in Bengaluru last year, Rakshit was at the forefront supporting Kiccha’s film, along with many others from the Kannada film industry. And now that Rakshit’s next film is set to release, Sudeep has voiced his appreciation for the trailer , albeit two days late.
On Thursday, August 17, the team of Rakshit’s Sapta Sagaradaache Ello, which is releasing in two parts, revealed the trailer of the first instalment, an intense love story between his character Manu and Rukmini Vasanth’s Priya. Taking to social media, Sudeep said that he not only thought that the trailer was calm, smooth and pleasant, but that he also loved the onscreen chemistry between Rakshit and Rukmini, the shots used, the frame compositions and the overall tone. Most importantly, he noted that Rukmini’s line “Yaak heeg maaddhe Manu”, was a hook line that opened a window to expect a good plot. Wishing the team all the best, Sudeep then shared the trailer with his followers.
Sapta Sagaradaache Ello is Rakshit’s second collaboration with director Hemanth M Rao . Split in two parts called Side A and Side B respectively, the first one will be in theatres on September 1, with the second set to follow 7 weeks later on October 20. The film also pairs Rakshit with Chaithra J Achar in Side B, while Avinash, Achyuth Kumar and Sharath Lohitashwa will be seen as part of the ensemble cast. The film has music by MR Charan Raj, who has scored for both of Hemanth’s earlier films as well.
