Kiccha Sudeep to return to Maximum Mass mode again with Max 2

In September last year, when Kiccha Sudeep was still waiting for the release of his film Max , which was coming well over 2 years after his last Vikrant Rona , he had announced that his days of doing only 1 film at a time were over. He had lined up a few projects to take up, but was yet to finalize which one or ones go on floor first. To start with, he got cracking on Billa Ranga Baashaa, directed by Rangi Taranga's Anup Bhandari and while it was thought that Sudeep may just focus only on this one film, given the scale of the production, turns out, he’s gearing up to start another one too.

Max 2 will reunite Sudeep ith Vijay Kartikeyaa, but not Kalaippuli S Thanu

According to actor-filmmaker Chakravarthy Chandrachud, who is now going as Devaa Chakravarthy, Sudeep will reunite with team Max for a sequel. Max 2, also written and directed by Vijay Kartikeyaa, will have Sudeep return as Arjun Mahakshay and delve into his background and how he came to be suspended before the events of Max. The buzz is that Kabali fame Kalaippuli S Thanu, who produced the original, is unlikely to return as producer, as he and Sudeep allegedly had a falling out over the delay in the release of the film, which was expected in September and then came out for Christmas.

Max, which was shot entirely on set in Mahabalipuram, was a tale that took place over one night. On the eve of Arjun Mahakshay resuming office at his jurisdictional station, a routine traffic check results in two boys from a local gangster’s faction being arrested. When all hell breaks loose over this detainment, it is up to Arjun Mahakshay aka Max to keep everyone safe. The film also starred Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, Ugramm Manju, Ilavarasu, Sukrutha Wagle, Samyukta Hornad, Sunil, Vamshi Krishna, Vijay Chendoor and many more.

Meanwhile Billa Ranga Baashaa, says Chakravarthy, will take time in the making, given that Anup Bhandari was creating the futuristic world that the film is set in at specially-erected sets.
