Abhinaya Chakravarthy Kiccha Sudeep’s fans, who were thrilled with the official announcement of his last release, Vikrant Rona, coming on OTT shortly, have more reason to be overjoyed. Fans, of course, wasted no time to take screenshots of this and plaster it all over social media as proof that Vikrant Rona is, indeed, Kiccha Sudeep’s biggest hit to date. “Especially To Those Haters Who Are Barking About #VikrantRona Collections 😉💥First 200Cr Movie For Baadshah @KicchaSudeep,” wrote one, adding, “It's Official Now 💥2nd Actor From KFI To Achieve This 200Cr+ Club 💥💥 Tnx To @ZeeKannada For Announcing It 😉.” “Pan India Blockbuster #VikrantRona Joins 200+ Crore Club Is Now Officially Confirmed,” wrote another.

The affirmation by Zee Network is being seen as answer to all those who have been indulging in fan wars and claiming that the team had shared inflated figures to save face. There was social media banter that the film had not broken into the Rs 100-crore club when the team officially announced it. Producer Manjunath Gowda had said that he was “safe” with pre-release business, which included the digital, satellite, overseas and music rights. The Hindi digital and satellite rights are yet to be sold. The film was apparently made at Rs 75 crore.

Vikrant Rona, directed by Anup Bhandari, also stars Nirup Bhandari and Neetha Ashok in pivotal roles. The film has music by Ajaneesh Loknath and cinematography by William David. The story unfolds in the mystical town Kamarottu, where a serious of mysterious disappearances of young children spurs an investigation by the new police inspector Vikrant Rona, who, as it turns out, has a personal interest in it. The film was converted in 3D and released in Kannada, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Hindi.
