Kiccha Sudeep-starrer Vikrant Rona to drop first glimpse on the actor’s birthday

Kannada film heavyweight Kiccha Sudeep has some exciting news for fans today. The actor, who has made his mark in films across Indian languages, took to Twitter to announce that the first glimpse of his upcoming Kannada film Vikrant Rona will be released on September 2, in celebration of the actor’s birthday.

On his Twitter handle, the Swathi Muthu actor posted a stirring poster of the upcoming fantasy thriller, with the dramatic caption ‘dead man’s anthem’ being seen across the same. A glance at the classic detective board, complete with newspaper clippings, photographs and red string across it, promises that the film will do good on its covenant of bringing to viewers a film that is as intriguing at its promotional first looks. And of course as the cherry on top, fans get to see Sudeep, playing the role of the titular character, donning the Sherlock-esque classic detective hat as well, as he looks intensely into his reflection in the mirror. The first glimpse will drop at 11:05 AM on the actor’s birthday.

In addition to Sudeep, the upcoming film also stars Nirup Bhandari, debutante Neetha Ashok, Ravishankar Gowda, Madhusudan Rao, Vasuki Vaibhav and Jacqueline Fernandez, the latter appearing in an extended cameo role. Fernandez’s character Rakkamma’s first look was also revealed last month.

Vikrant Rona will feature Anup Bhandari in the director’s chair, who rose to fame with his feature debut Rangitaranga, also a mystery thriller. The film, previously titled Phantom, was scheduled to be released in 3D on August 19, which was delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. A new release date is yet to be announced. With its post production work under way, Vikrant Rona will reportedly be released in 14 languages.
