Kiccha46: All you need to know about Simrat Kaur who’s rumoured to be in Kiccha Sudeep’s next

There is still no word on when the title launch promo of Kiccha Sudeep’s upcoming next will be released, but as we had told you earlier, there is a lot of speculation surrounding the project, including the leading lady. We had reported that one of the names doing the rounds was that of young actress Simrat Kaur, who’s been in Telugu cinema for a while and is now prepping for her big Bollywood break, Gadar 2, with Sunny Deol in the lead.

Here's all that we know about the actress:

• A Mumbaikar with Punjabi roots, Simrat was pursuing a graduate course in computer science when she was approached for a role in the Telugu film Prematho Mee Karthik, after someone from the team saw her pictures on Instagram.
• She is trained in Karate.
• Her debut and follow up film Parichayam did not give her the break she was expecting, and it was the 2020 film Dirty Hari that got her noticed.
• In the erotic thriller Dirty Hari, which was an Indian adaptation of Woody Allen’s Match Point, Simrat played a bold and ambitious character called Jasmine. The role required her to have quite a few steamy scenes as well as lip-locks with her co-star.
• She has an integral role in the sequel to the 2011 hit, Gadar, which is slated to release in theatres in August this year.
• Simrat is now rumoured to be the frontrunner as the leading lady of Kiccha Sudeep’s next, which is being directed by debutant Vijay Karthikeyen and backed by Thanu S Kalaippuli.

Although the news of Simrat being in #Kiccha46 had been doing the rounds for several days, it has gained traction now, implying that the news could be true after all. Several netizens, however, wondered if the actress would be paired opposite Sudeep, or if she would only play a pivotal role in the film, as she looks quite young. This was the same reaction that netizens had when Malashree’s daughter Radhana was paired opposite Darshan. Official word on Simrat’s casting is still awaited.
