It’s May 22, the day that Kannada superstar Kiccha Sudeep said he would do the promo shoot for his next film, dubbed #Kiccha46, which would then be officially launched on June 1. The actor has given no hint about who he has decided to collaborate with for this film, although, in the past he has said that he would be working with Vikrant Rona maker Anup Bhandari, Ranna maker Nanda Kishore, as well as on a project with Maanaadu maker Venkat Prabhu.
For the actor’s fans, of course, it’s been literally like sitting on pins and needles, as they wait for word on the film that Sudeep has chosen, after all. Since morning, there’s been a renewed round of speculation, after a social media post that claimed that Nanda Kishore was spotted at the Ramoji Rao Studio in Hyderabad. A Sudeep-Nanda Kishore collaboration is not something fans are thrilled about, considering their earlier film together was Ranna, the remake of the Telugu hit Attarintiki Daredi, and the filmmaker’s last was the box office failure, Raana. The comment section to the tweet about Nanda in Hyderabad is testimony to this. But then Nanda has been known to be a close associate of Sudeep for a long time and could be in Hyderabad as part of the actor’s entourage only.
The second, and more likely, collaboration, reckon netizens, is with Anup. Sudeep and Anup had earlier planned to do a film called Billa Ranga Baashaa, which they put on the backburner to focus on Vikrant Rona instead. During the promotions of Vikrant Rona, Sudeep had repeatedly said that he was looking forward to working with Anup again. A source close to the actor had told us earlier that #Kiccha46 would, most definitely, be Billa Ranga Baashaa, although the director has always maintained that he needed a lot of time in pre-production before going on floors. Well, it’s been nearly 10 months since Vikrant Rona released, so, Anup has had enough time to finalize the script and get cracking on the film after all.
