KIFF: Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan may attend the festival, says Bengal CM

Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee’s Mumbai tour was nothing short of a glamorous one. She went to Jalsa and tied a rakhi to Amitabh Bachchan. A photo of her with the family was widely circulated on social media. She also invited the Bachchans to Durga Puja in Bengal and the film festival. Then she announced a piece of big news about the 29th Kolkata International Film Festival, just after coming back from the Bachchans’ house. 

In the press conference in Mumbai on Wednesday, Mamata said that at this time’s inauguration, Salman Khan can accompany Shah Rukh Khan. Getting these two megastars together can undoubtedly be a huge gift to the Bengali audience. Shah Rukh and Salman mean a grand show, be it at the box office or on the stage. This year’s KIFF will be a huge show if the two Bollywood stars come together. 

What did she say in Mumbai? Mamata said, “KIFF is a huge show in Kolkata. It will not be complete without Amitabh Ji. I invited him. Shah Rukh and Salman will also come. Anil Kapoor said yes. Mahesh Bhat Ji will also come.” Such words hinted that the KIFF this year is going to be a big business.
