Kill Bill is getting a desi avatar with Kriti Sanon set to play the iconic role essayed by Uma Thurman in the Quentin Tarantino directorials.

Reports suggest that the Bollywood version of the movie is set to be helmed by Anurag Kashyap with Nikhil Dwivedi serving as a producer. The latter had bought the rights of the film and is currently working on the film’s script, according to a report in Pinkvilla.

The duo is reportedly now finalising the casting for the movie, which could go on floors by early next year. Kriti has been approached to play the lead role in the movie, which has a lot of action scenes. The actress will reportedly be undergoing a lot of preparation as well as training in martial arts before she begins filming.

Apart from her, two more actresses will be roped in for the film. It’s still unclear whether the Bollywood remake will also have two volumes like the original.

Uma Thurman played the Bride aka Black Mamba, an ex-member of a group of deadly assassins. After the assassins try to kill her and her unborn child in a wedding chapel, she seeks revenge by hunting the people responsible.

The movie had an ensemble cast featuring Lucy Liu, David Carradine, Michael Madsen, Daryl Hannah and Vivica A Fox as the members of the assassin group named Deadly Viper Assassination Squad.

Meanwhile, Kriti is also part of Mimi, Hum Do Humare Do, Bachchan Pandey and the big budget film Adipurush, which also stars Prabhas and Saif Ali Khan.
