Martin Scorsese mustered his best resources and pulled out all the stops for his passion project Killers of the Flower Moon, with Apple Studios backing the living legend with all its might. The film marks the 80-year-old director's second straight collaboration with a streamer following the surprising debut he made in 2019 with Netflix through The Irishman.

But unlike the previous time, Killers of the Flower Moon is billed for the big-screen experience and the makers are ensuring that the master filmmaker gets exactly what he and his film deserve.

Killers of the Flower Moon stars will have a limited release on October 6, 2023, which will be followed by a much wider release across the globe on October 20. Paramount Pictures will be distributing the film in theatres with Apple TV+ then slated to play the host to the digital or OTT version of the film on a yet-undetermined date.

For the film, Martin Scorsese reunites with two of his most well-known muses, Leonardo DiCaprio and Robert De Niro, with Lily Gladstone, Jesse Plemons, Brendan Fraser, John Lithgow and others playing major roles in the film.

The first trailer of the film dropped earlier today, on July 5, to offer a more immersive peek into the mesmeric world of the film. If the previous teaser trailer presented the story from the perspective of DiCaprio's Ernest Burkhart, the new trailer provides a much wider and tantalizing view of the scheme of things.

An epic story of greed, corruption and sheer impudence, Killers of the Flower Moon follows the real-life events that took place in the 1920s in which members of the Osage Nation native tribe are mysteriously and tragically found dead one after another. An FBI investigation into the murders (at least 60 of them reported between 1918 and 1931) finds cattleman William Hale (Burkhart's uncle, played by De Niro) as the chief culprit in a sinister exercise to eliminate the Osage to gain control of the rights of their oil.

Killers of the Flower Moon premiered at the 2023 Cannes Film Festival where it received a rapturous reception with Lily Gladstone's performance, in particular, along with Scorsese's direction, getting a majority of the praise.
