Anu Menon is best known for directing Vidya Balan's Shakuntala Devi in 2020 and the Amazon Prime Video series Four More Shots Please! But there's just one way to characterise her during the last week as the director of the fourth season of Killing Eve. Menon claims that the difference in work culture between Bollywood and the West is largely a myth, contrary to what many performers who work in both worlds believe.

During an interaction at mid-day, the filmmaker revealed that she believes the material is created similarly all across the world. It all starts with a vision, assembling the best team, and going all out. The plot of Killing Eve is an American-British collaboration. Menon worried at first about what would happen if I forgot everything she knew. What if she makes a fool of herself? But after that, she felt at ease in her skin.

Sandra Oh and Jodie Comer feature in one of the most popular network shows in recent history. When narrating the story of two female characters, it was critical to include a female perspective. While past seasons featured directors such as Phoebe Waller-Bridge and Emerald Fennell, the most recent season was directed by an all-female team: Emily Atef, Stella Corradi, and Menon. It's clear that the series believes in embracing diversity, from its actors to the people behind the scenes.

While talking about herself, Menon revealed that she studied film at the London Film School and is based in London. But she never got to make anything here. She doesn't wish to be an exotic Indian in a western film. The filmmaker also has no desire to write a story about God or honour killing. In today's market, there is a preconception that an Indian should say a certain type of story, and she got a lot of those things right. Menon shared that she would rather be hired for her abilities than her race.

When it comes to Killing Eve, you have to bring up Oh. For her no-nonsense personality, the former Grey's Anatomy star is a favourite among women all over the world.

Talking about her experience of working with her, Menon said that the actor is invested, passionate, and gives it her all. It brought back memories of the filmmaker's time working with Vidya Balan. Sandra, like Vidya, would enthuse about the role for hours, and they sat on the couch and brainstormed for a long time. Like Menon, Oh has 2000 ideas a minute, and all of them work towards culminating in something better.
