Kim Kardashian joins Emma Roberts in American Horror Story: Season 12; here's all you need to know

Kim Kardashian is adding another accomplishment to her long list: she will be a part of Season 12 of American Horror Story. The reality TV star made the revelation on Monday on her Instagram page, sharing a teaser video with ominous music and the mysterious captions "eyeball" and "blood drop."

According to the video that Kardashian shared, she will join American Horror Story regular Emma Roberts in the upcoming 12th season this summer. Kardashian's video says that the next season of Ryan Murphy's anthology series will be called Delicate.

The same video was also tweeted by Roberts, who captioned it, "This summer, Kim and I are DELICATE."

Kardashian omitted any information regarding her role or the season. Kardashian's involvement was confirmed by FX to Variety, but no other information was provided. According to a Murphy spokeswoman, Kardashian plays the protagonist in Season 12 of American Horror Story. She was the one for whom the character was created.

The 12th season's showrunner and all of the episodes will be written by Halley Feiffer, who has written episodes for "American Horror Story" and "American Crime Story."

Kardashian has been a television celebrity for more than 15 years, appearing on Keeping Up With the Kardashians on E! and The Kardashians on Hulu, but she has rarely ever tried her hand at acting. With cameo appearances in comedies including How I Met Your Mother, 30 Rock, 2 Broke Girls, and most recently, Ocean's 8, she has a number of voice-acting and animation credits. But she has a few little acting gigs under her belt. In 2008, she starred in the comedic spoof Disaster Movie. In 2009, she scored a job on CSI: NY. And in 2012, she had four appearances on Drop Dead Diva.

Kardashian hasn't acted in more than ten years, and American Horror Story will definitely be her most important role to date.

The position broadens Kardashian's influence within the Disney organisation. The third season of The Kardashians on Hulu will premiere next month, and Kardashian and her family will executive produce and appear in it. On FX and Hulu, American Horror Story is airing.
