Malayalam superstar Dulquer Salmaan and Tovino Thomas are currently shooting in Karaikudi. Dulquer has been busy with debutant filmmaker Abhilash Joshiy’s King of Kotha for the better part of the past six months and is currently in the final leg of the shoot of the film, which is also produced by the Kurup actor.
Incidentally, Dulquer and Tovino had also shared screen space previously for Kurup, which had hit theatres in 2021. Though the duo are shooting in Karaikudi now, Tovino clarified that he is not part of King of Kotha.
The Minnal Murali actor had, in fact, completed shooting his portions for Ajayante Randam Moshanam’s Thiruvananthapuram schedule on Wednesday, before heading to Tamil Nadu to resume shooting for his 1910 portions in the movie. The actor, who will be seen in a triple role in the Jithin Lal directorial, had already shot for his 1950 and 1990 portions, and will be shooting for sequences that have him as the character Kunjikelu.
Tovino had wrapped up his Thiruvananthapuram portions by shooting an underwater sequence that was filmed at B R Ambedkar International Aquatic Complex in Venjaramoodu. He is expected to be back in Kannur next week, to shoot for his subsequent portions that will also have Aishwarya Rajesh.
Ajayante Randam Moshanam’s first schedule was also at Karaikudi and Dulquer was also shooting for King of Kotha during the time. The latter, which is scripted by Porinju Mariyam Jose writer Abhilash N Chandran, is a gangster actioner that also has a period setting. The film, which is mounted on a big canvas, is set for an Onam 2023 release and is expected to go up against Mohanlal and Jeethu Joseph’s globe-trotting action thriller Ram.
King of Kotha also has Aishwarya Lekshmi, Nyla Usha, Gokul Suresh, Prasanna, Sudhi Koppa, Ritika Singh and Shabareesh Kallarakkal.
