Dulquer Salmaan's King of Kotha is one of the most awaited releases in Malayalam this year. The team dropped the second-look poster from the film today in which Dulquer is seen in an intense avatar against the backdrop of a mean machine, which carries the number plate of Uttar Pradesh. There is also a temple and mosque in the background. The makers announced that the film will hit screens for Onam. The makers dropped the poster and captioned it, "Buckle up, you’re in for a crazy ride. #KingOfKotha is all set to deliver a powerful, action-packed experience in theatres from Onam 2023 (sic)."
King of Kotha marks the directorial debut of veteran filmmaker Joshiy’s son Abhilash. The film is scripted by Porinju Mariyam Jose writer Abhilash N Chandran and the shoot is going in full swing and is expected to be wrapped up by the end of this month. King of Kotha is being billed as a pan- India project and will release in Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Hindi. The star cast includes Dulquer Salmaan, Shabeer Kallarakkal, Gokul Suresh, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Chemban Jose Vinod, Prasanna, Shammi Thilakan, Nyla Usha, Shanthi Krishna to name a few. While the music is by Jakes Bejoy, cinematography is by Nimish Ravi and editing is by Shyam Sasidharan. Dulquer has also doubled up as a co-producer.
As the actor completes 11 years in the film industry today (February 3), the makers dropped a montage of his works right from his debut with Second Show (2012) and captioned it, "@dulQuer, Thank you for giving us so many memorable characters that made us love you even more! With the second look of #KingOfKotha #KOK dropping at 11.00 am tomorrow, we can't wait to witness your magic once again!"
Dulquer was last seen in Malayalam in Kurup. He was recently part of the critically acclaimed Chup, and is part of Raj and Krishna's Guns and Gulaabs, which is set to stream on Netflix.
