Dulquer Salmaan’s long gaps between Malayalam releases have often ended in record-breaking entertainers. The star, who hasn’t had a straight Malayalam theatrical release since Kurup in November 2021, will next be headlining King of Kotha, which he is busy shooting for right now.

On the eve of him completing 11 years in the Malayalam film industry, ZEE Studios dropped a video and an update on when the fans of the Sita Ramam and Chup superstar will see a glimpse of what the upcoming gangster action entertainer helmed by Abhilash Joshiy is about.

The 90-second video highlighted some of the best films Dulquer has been part of, since his debut with Srinath Rajendran’s Second Show way back in 2012. The video also announced that the team will let out the second look from King of Kotha on February 3 at 11am.

The movie, which is scripted by Porinju Mariyam Jose writer Abhilash N Chandran, had gone on floors last year, soon after the actor wrapped up his promotions for Chup and Sita Raman. Dulquer, who is also producing the movie, has been extensively shooting for in Tamil Nadu, with most of it set in Karaikudi. The shoot of the film is expected to wrap up by end of February.

Though there has been a few schedule breaks, the team has been working non-stop in ensuring that it will live up to the standards of Kurup, which emerged Dulquer’s biggest hit in Malayalam, doing business of over Rs 100 crore. King of Kotha is expected to get a pan-Indian release with versions in Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Hindi.

Apart from Dulquer, the movie also has Prasanna, Gokul Suresh, Aishwarya Lekshmi and Nyla Usha. Meanwhile, Dulquer has also completed shooting for Raj Nidimoru and Krishna DK-directed series Guns and Gulaabs, which is expected to begin streaming on Netflix later this year.
