The announcement of King, directed by Siddharth Anand, literally broke the internet on November 2. The special announcement was made on Shah Rukh Khan's 60th birthday, which left fans in a frenzy. During a fan event on his birthday, SRK opened up about King and shared an interesting detail about his co-star Deepika Padukone.

During the fan event in Mumbai on his birthday, Shah Rukh Khan was asked to share details about his upcoming film, King. However, SRK did not give out too much of the story of King. "Once more and more assets come up, you’ll know more about the film. There are several characters in the film. The idea behind the film is that we end up taking big decisions when we end up taking things personally. We should think whether what we are doing is right or not," he said. 

“Also, we are not going to take any sides in King. If you like our thought, then do follow it. Ya fir bura hi karte rehna!” he continued. 

When a fan said that they have a lot of 'pyaar' (love) for Shah Rukh Khan, the King actor replied, “Mere saath film mein Deepika Padukone bhi hai. Pyaar toh zaroor hoga," confirming a romantic angle in the film.
