Kingdom actor Vijay Deverakonda to play a double role in Rahul Sankrityan's next | Exclusive

Vijay Deverakonda has been lying low without a proper hit in his career over the last few years. He has now teamed up with Jersey director Gowtam Tinnanuri for a biggie titled Kingdom. The action drama is all set to hit the screens on May 30, 2025.

Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika to team up again

We at OTTplay were the first to reveal that Vijay will next team up with his Taxiwala director, Rahul Sankrityan, for a period drama that will be made on a massive scale by Mythri Movie Makers. The film's pre-production is happening at a brisk pace, and we have some exclusive information about the film.

The news is that the Taxiwala star, Vijay Deverakonda, will be seen in a double role, playing both father and son in this period drama. A special set is being erected for the same, and Vijay will join the sets from the second week of June 2025, once Kingdom is released.

The special aspect of the film is that Vijay's Geetha Govindam co-star, Rashmika Mandanna, will be seen as the female lead. This will be the third time that both Vijay and Rashmika will pair up on screen. The makers of Allu Arjun's Pushpa, Mythri Movie Makers, are bankrolling this film on a massive scale. Fans are super excited to see the pair of Vijay and Rashmika together again after a long time.

This will also be the first time Vijay will be seen in a double role in his career, and there is a lot of excitement surrounding the film, especially since director Rahul’s last film, Shyam Singha Roy, was a massive hit at the box office.
