Kingdom box office collection day 2: Vijay Deverakonda's film makes impressive numbers, grosses Rs 54 crore

Kingdom is Vijay Deverakonda’s new film that started with a bang at the box office. The action drama grossed ₹36 crore on day one of its release, the highest opening in Vijay’s career. Despite mixed reviews, the film had good occupancy on its first day, and the momentum continued into day two, although occupancy slightly dipped.

Kingdom packs a punch at the box office

As per the latest update, Kingdom made ₹8 crore net on day two, which is a very impressive number. With the weekend ahead, Kingdom is expected to make big money in the next two days, as there is no other major Telugu release this week. It remains the top choice for Telugu audiences to flock to theatres.

The makers revealed in an interview that most of the distribution areas are already in the safe zone. The film is performing exceptionally well in Telangana and has posted record numbers. In the US, Kingdom has already crossed the $1 million mark.

Vijay Deverakonda’s rugged new avatar and intense action sequences have contributed to the film’s strong opening. Directed by Gautam Tinnanuri of Jersey fame, the film opened to mixed reviews. Most viewers felt that the first half was strong, while the second half lacked impact.

Still, thanks to the solid buzz, Kingdom managed an excellent start. To date, the film has grossed nearly ₹40 crore, an impressive number. Trade sources reveal that Kingdom is expected to cross the ₹100 crore gross mark by Monday and could become one of Vijay Deverakonda’s biggest hits.
