Kingdom, the upcoming Telugu film starring actor Vijay Deverakonda in the lead role, was slated for a theatrical release on May 30. However, the fans of the actor are in for a disappointment, as the film has been delayed. The makers of Kingdom, on Wednesday, announced the news along with a new release date in July.

For actor Vijay Deverakonda, it has been a while since he tasted success at the box office. The Pelli Choopulu star was gearing up for Kingdom, a film with Jersey director Gowtam Tinnanuri for an action drama. The film was scheduled to release on May 30. However, the latest is that Kingdom has been postponed and will now arrive a month later, on July 4.

Announcing the delay, the makers shared a note saying, "We explored every possibility to stick to the original date. But recent unforeseen events in the country and the current atmosphere have made it difficult for us to move forward with promotions or celebrations. We believe this decision will help us present Kingdom in the best possible way. With the creative excellence and spirit it deserves.”

We, at OTTplay, had foreseen the delay in the film and had reported that the reason is due to Anirudh Ravichander, who is yet to wrap up the work on the background score.

Headlined by the World Famous Lover actor, Kingdom also stars actors Bhagyashri Borse and Satyadev and is an action drama produced by Naga Vamsi and Sai Soujanya under the banners of Sithara Entertainments and Fortune Four Cinemas. It marks the first time Gowtam is working with Vijay. The technical crew consists of edits by Naveen Nooli and Girish Gangadharan, with Jomon T. John cranking the camera. Kingdom will release in Telugu, Hindi and Tamil.
