Kireeti Reddy is the latest Karnataka politician star kid to get into films

There’s been buzz about Ballari MLC and mining baron Janardhan Reddy’s son Kireeti getting into cinema for a while, but it’s now been officially confirmed. On March 4, Kireeti’s as-yet-untitled Kannada-Telugu bilingual will be launched in a glittering muhurtha event to be attended by Baahubali and RRR maker SS Rajamouli.

With this launch, Kireeti joins the long list of Karnataka politician kids in cinema. Among the newer crop, there’s Nikhil Gowda, the son of former CM HD Kumaraswamy is already four films old and working on a fifth, Anup Revanna, the son of HM Revanna has done two and will next be seen in R Chandru’s Kabzaa, Zaid Khan, the son of Zameer Khan is set for his debut with Banaras, and Sachin, the son of N Cheluvarayaswamy, who’s been MIA since his first film, Happy Birthday.

Directed by Radhakrishna, the film is slated to be an action-packed family entertainer, with a love story at its crux. While there are no details about the rest of the cast yet, the makers have roped in popular Tollywood composer Devi Sri Prasad for the music, while Baahubali and RRR fame K Senthil Kumar serves as cinematographer, with Peter Hein handling the action sequences.

According to Kireeti, this film by the production house that has backed hits like Eega, Legend, Oohalu Gusagusalaade, is the ideal launchpad for him, as it has a subject that will appeal to all audiences, while also allowing him to put his years of preparation for this moment to best use.
