Directed by Abhimanyu Mukherjee, the film will revolve around an elderly man and his daughter-in-law.

Arunima Ghosh has teamed up with Gourab Chatterjee for a brand new comedy, Kirtan, with veteran actor Paran Bandyopadhyay. Directed by Abhimanyu Mukherjee, the film delved into the life of a north Kolkata man and his daughter-in-law. While Paran will be seen as the elderly man, Arunima will be seen as the bahu in the film. Kirtan is scheduled to go on the floors by the first week of August and the shooting will take place around Kolkata.
Arunima has of late been seen in thrillers, including Ayan Chakrabarti’s Shororipu 2: Jotugriho in 2019, Anindya Bikash Dutta’s Kiriti and Arindam Sil’s Shabor series. The actress is evidently happy to be able to work in a comedy. In an interview with Etimes, she said that after working in a series of whodunit or thrillers she will be working on a comedy and she is particularly happy about that. She also mentioned that comedy is her favourite genre. “I also feel comedy is the toughest genre when it comes to performing,” she said. Explaining further, Arunima added that making a person laugh with an actor;’s comic timing is not easy. “Paran Kaku's comic timing is brilliant and I am sure he will guide me during the shoot,” she said.
Gourab will play the character of Arunima’s husband. Talking about the script, the actress termed it hilarious. “I am sure the audience will be able to relate to the story,” she said. Arunima is teaming up with Gourab and Abhimanyu for the first time. Meanwhile, she has been busy shooting Arindam Sil’s Iskaboner Bibi in which she plays Prambrata Chatterjee’s wife. She also plays a key character in Arindam’s upcoming film Maayakumari, which features Rituparna Sengupta in lead.
